When Bad Things Happen

I have heard many people say that all the bad things that happen in the world prove that God does not exist. How could there be a God who allows so much evil? I would say to these people that God does exist and He deeply cares about His children. He cares so much that He suffered the sacrifice of His only son through crucifixion and death so that we might truly live (eternally).

I believe suffering results from our separation from God in some form or fashion. You may think that you are not limiting HIM or doing anything that warrants seperation, but each day I find myself doing things that move me away from Him. Every time I sin, and for those holier than thou ones out there shaking your head no, you sin too,  the world becomes a little bit worse.  We can do no good thing apart from God. The more we separate ourselves from Him, the more likely we are to cause someone else harm or pain. Think about it. God gives us freedom of choice and many times the choices we make produce pain, hardship and bad things to happen. He allows them to happen because of the choices we make. He didn't cause the pain, we did.

To me Christianity is about God seeking us out, calling us back to Him. In this life, we are separated from Him, so there will be suffering. However, if we use this precious gift of life to answer His call, He will deliver us into an eternity of peace. He has given us a choice, but most of us choose to reject Him.

Peace and Blessings, Lady M.

John 14: 26-27  "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
