![]() This is my favorite time of the year! The smell of Autumn, the coolness of the morning and evening breeze, the leaves turning colors. It is also one of the loneliest for many. It’s cuddle season, when you want someone next to you to hold you tight and snuggle. It’s the beginning of the holiday season and many are alone during these times. There are even some people who are not literally alone, yet feel that way. Yes, depression escalates during the fall and winter seasons. So, let us remember 1st that GOD never leaves or forsakes us. He is there when no one else is around. Hasn’t He been there before? Well, He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He never changes!!! Second, we need to realize that the upcoming holidays are truly manmade. None of them are biblical. Yes, we have twisted the real pagan meaning of them into validating them into some form of Christianity but none are mentioned in the Bible as a time to celebrate. So, let us not get so caught up on the commercialism and human concept that we lose focus on that which is important. Next, in order to better cope with the holidays volunteer or visit those that are sick and shut in, less fortunate and lonely as well. Take this moment to stop focusing on self and focus on helping others. Pretty soon your bout of loneliness and depression will be suppressed because you will find that out there in this mean cruel world there is always someone worse than you are and you may even find that they will uplift your mood instead of the opposite. Be blessed and know that God loves you so very much. Lady Monica Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the Lord, He is the one who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you; He will not forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed. “

As I sit here and reflect on relationships that I’ve experienced over the years it astonishes me. Many were there for a particular season. Some of them for a particular reason and some have been there all of my life and will remain with me for a lifetime. What we must realize is that everyone comes into your life for a particular purpose and we must seek God in order to determine what that purpose is. If it is a person of the opposite sex that we encounter, then many times we immediately sum that person up as a husband or wife. Stop that! Kill that ego. The fact is on many occasions God sent that person into your life to be a business partner, brother or sister in Christ or a person needing guidance or there to offer you guidance. Sometimes people drop out of our lives for no particular reason at all and you are left scratching your head wondering what happened. Don’t worry, when God removes someone out of your life it means they are finished with their assignment. Don’t chase after them. Don’t spend your time seeking that which is gone, but if you are needing a good friend, confidant, business partner, husband, wife, etc. then SEEK God and He will place the right people into your life at just the right time for all of the right reasons.
