Like myself, I am sure that many of you grew up knowing about God and even attending Church on a regular basis. However, it is imperative not to just know ABOUT God, but to have an intimate relationship with and KNOW God. Sometimes incidents will push you into HIS arms and it is at that point that you and I begin to honestly KNOW HIM!
Well, that life changing event began for me on May 25, 2009. On that day, I was involved in a horrible car accident. My vehicle was totaled after it flipped and hit the cement median divider in the highway. The car then slid approximately another 1/2 mile or so down the highway. Meanwhile my left arm was dragging along the road, as my window was down. I was rushed to a trauma hospital unable to move and I was immediately prepped for the first of 5 surgeries as my right arm was also broken. Along with fractured ribs and the inability to use either hand or arm I was totally bedridden. and unable to do one single thing for myself (i.e., feed myself; go to the bathroom, write or ANYTHING). Per the surgeons, my prognosis was poor. "She'll never be able to use the left hand/arm again and the right is questionable." I was in that trauma center for almost 2 months. Once I left there, I then went into an inpatient rehabilitation center for over a month. I had just gotten married in December 2008, to the man that I thought (notice I said I thought because GOD had told me otherwise, but I made excuses and disobeyed anyway) was my true soulmate. We married on my grandmother's birthday, as she had passed 11 months prior. My mother passed in 2005 at the age of 52 and I was an only child in a place with no family. Five, YES I said FIVE days after I was discharged from that inpatient rehabilitation center my husband packed up and left me while I was still unable to care for myself or my wounds. I had no way to get to my doctor's appointments or any of my physical therapy appointments (which I had to go 3 to 4 times a week for the entire year), because he took the car as well. BUT God made a way. Can I tell you that God will use your enemies or people you didn’t even expect to be there to bless you? But, remember that everyone HE places in your path to bless you or help you get to your destiny is not necessarily a friend. They have an assignment and once it is over they will fade away from your circle. DO NOT try to latch onto them and do not allow your feelings to be hurt because of their now unexplained distance. Their work is finished. I thank God for my children, Lakeira Franklin and Ariel Melton who stood by me all the way and assisted to the best of their ability.
Now during this transition, God not only performed surgery and a miracle on my physical body, but HE also transformed my FAITH and spiritual life into an anointed place far beyond my imagination. So, my wounds are now scars and healing has occurred. It is my desire now to help someone else along the way that needs help healing those wounds. A healing balm that will turn their open wounds into "My Scars."
This is how the My Scars Ministry developed and I received inspiration to write my first book. If you have been hurt mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually there are others out there who understand your pain and will be there to help. “My Scars” is where wounds become scars and healing takes place. May the peace of God forever be upon your life.
