My heart aches as I see so many searching to fill that void within. You know the void of loneliness. The void of LOVE. It seems to be even harder for us women because we are designed to be nurturers and we long to have someone that needs us and that we can care for. Whether you are young or seasoned there is something gratifying and satisfying about nurturing. All of these feelings are normal; however, it is at this point that the enemy can sneak in with deceiving thoughts and actions. He begins to whisper lies and negative thoughts in your ear and sends counterfeits into your life to make you settle. See, at this point he knows you are lonely and he knows what you like, so he sends you a prototype of what you want instead of what you need. Yes, it is HARD out here in the dating world when you desire a husband or a wife. Boy do I know. But I have decided to do what the WORD tells me…..Seek God first and all those things will be added. If you are like me you have probably been seeking things out of order. See, when you seek the things first then you may get the things but you are then seeking God to fix the things you went out and retrieved instead of waiting on HIS perfect timing. God knows what we need and in His time He will send us that husband or wife that fits perfectly into His plan. Remember, it was His words that stated that, “It is not good that man should be alone, I will make Him a HELP-MEET!” Continue to seek HIM first and watch LOVE catch you when you least expect it! Remember when you were growing up and you had that one best friend that you could always go to for anything. That person would listen to you confess your deepest secrets. They would tell you if they thought something was wrong or right and give you the biggest praise when you excelled in something. I have often told my children that real friends don’t agree with everything that you do or say. If someone is in agreement with you at all times no matter right or wrong or consequences then they aren’t your true friends. A true friend will correct you when you are wrong and be there to help steer you in the right direction. In the faith world, we call them accountability partners. Every person needs an accountability partner; Someone that you can call when you are tempted into committing a sinful act that can help you; Someone that you can confess your sins to without being judged and they will pray with you as you confess them to the Father and ask for forgiveness. An accountability partner will help sharpen you, just as the Bible speaks of iron sharpening iron. They will help you regain your strength when you are weak and be there for you when you need a shoulder to cry on. They will point out to you the things in your life that you are doing wrong and where you need improvement, but most of all they will be our biggest cheerleader when we have overcome a battle or obstacle. You may be saying that you don’t need that type of person in your life and that you the Messiah is your accountability partner and that is wonderful. However, the word tells us in James 5:16 “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” This powerful verse tells us that there is healing in confessing to other believers. It’s not easy sharing our secrets with someone and even harder is finding someone we can trust. However, once we let our pride go and trust in God to send us the person in our lives we need, then we will find ourselves becoming more honest not only with God, but with ourselves and others. Love and Blessings, Lady Monica I can remember when the remote control became a popular item in the home. After using it for a while I would find myself clicking that thing, without thinking, at appliances that didn’t even come with a remote. We have become so accustomed to using the remote that when it is lost we will walk right past the stereo or television in order to find the remote to switch channels or turn off the appliance. Now, isn’t that just like creatures of habit? As I type this blog today I realize that we treat our relationship with God in the same manner. We pick Him up when He is needed desperately; otherwise He is tossed to the side and lost without a cause until we need Him. Likewise, we pass by His word (Bible) everyday in order to find a quick fix that may or may not correct our problem. We pass by the Bible looking for ways to get us out of our current situation or circumstance, when all we have to do is stop and pick up the Word which will direct our every path. The answer to all of our problems is right there in front of us, but we will go in every other direction looking for the answer instead of going to the one that is within sight. God is much more than a magic genie, whom you may think will come out when you call him and magically grant you the wishes (desires) of your heart. He is our Creator, our Lifeline, our Father, the Holiest of Holies, the Alpha and Omega and everything in between. He is life and He requires us to know Him on an intimate level, not just when we need to pick Him up and have Him solve a problem. He wants a relationship with you that surpasses any relationship you’ve ever encountered or ever will. Won’t you develop that type of relationship with Him starting today? He’s waiting. Love and Blessings, Lady Monica Jeremiah 29: 12-13 “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. There are many times when we go about life taking for granted the things that many hold so dear. Thanks to a dear friend, Minister Nathaniel Edwards for reminding us on last week how to be grateful for even the things that we complain about. This day forth let us try to acknowledge the Father in all things and remember that He created the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them. Therefore, everything (creation) has a purpose. Yes, even those bugs that I can’t stand have a purpose each to their own for being a part of this great universe. So, instead of complaining let me accept the fact and be grateful that all things work together for my good. (Sidenote)…I hope the bugs can do all of their work on the outside of the house. All of this is a gentle reminder that someone out there would be happy to have a bug in their house, because they don’t have a house to live in. Someone would be happy to be stuck in traffic because they don’t have a car to drive. Someone would be happy to have the job you complain about because they haven’t been able to find employment to support their family in over 5 years. Remember, true appreciation comes from the heart and not the lips. I am grateful and honored to be able to share this word with you as we learn and grow in love together.
