So, I’m listening to a radio show the other day with a well known host and the topic was about women approaching men for dates, etc. One of the hosts stated that this is a new day and age and old techniques no longer apply to today’s society. I sat there in awe, baffled and somewhat disturbed by the fact that the enemy has so subliminally inched his way into the minds of society that we can no longer walk according to our written instructions of the Bible. I’m sure that many Christian women who are single listened to this segment and at the end, many were thinking wow, this is true. I need to start approaching the men I like and change as times change. But, I came to tell you today that times change, people change, but GOD is the same yesterday, today and forever. His plan for our lives is perfect and if we would spend the time and energy wasted looking for a man/woman on seeking Him and learning His word then He would bless us with the man/woman that He has so graciously and meticulously designed for us.
You see many times we delay our own blessing. God already has that person set aside and waiting. The thing is, HE is waiting for us to stop searching on our own for this person. He is waiting on us to prove ourselves worthy. He is waiting on us to make sure that when we get this person we won’t idolize him/her and place them in priority over our relationship with Him. He is waiting to make sure that we know how to appreciate him/her. He is waiting……on YOU and me. So, let’s not get so caught up on the lies of the world that we forget who and what we are in Christ. We know what God has promised us and we know that God cannot, will not and shall not lie. Therefore, if we truly believe this within our hearts and we are doing things in order we will be blessed with our spiritual help meets. Remember, God created us and He knew that there was a need for families. After all, wasn’t it HE that said, “It is not good that man should be alone. I will make him a HELP meet?” Let us not forget that GOD is in control, not reality TV, not radio or television talk show hosts, not Christian Singles or even E-Harmony. God is the only one that can seal the deal with the power of the Holy Spirit.
