God is not a genie

Many people believe that accepting Jesus as the true Messiah and Savior will immediately alleviate all problems they face.  Look, acceptance isn’t magic.  It’s not rubbing a lamp and a genie appears and grants you three wishes.  It is TRUTH…a lifestyle change and assurance of an eternal home with the Creator.  If your focus is fame, riches and no problems then you are in for a rude awakening.  No, I’m not trying to frighten you nor deter your walk, but I do want you to be informed and not walking in a fog.  This place, earth is a temporary home.  You don’t believe me? Well, let’s do a self check…do you have anyone close to you that has passed away?  Do you know anyone who has passed away? Of course you do, and that proves that our time here is temporary.  Now, let’s look at this; we could have all of the money, cars, mansions and fame in the world yet we will not take any of that with us when we depart this life. Our focus should be living our life in a manner that is acceptable and holy to God that we may spend an eternity with Him in peace, without the troubles of this earth. Jesus and all of the prophets of His time endured hardships, but God was with them as He is with us.  So on this journey do not be deceived, we will go through but the good news is God goes through with us.  Let us focus more on eternity than what is temporary.  Today choose to be a blessing to someone else.  Share the good news.

Blessings – Lady Monica

John 16:33 - “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Building the Kingdom of God is work. So many times, we use God as a source of prosperity and luxury. We take the laws of Sowing & Reaping and master it, not really taking into account the meaning of the scripture and parables Jesus taught.

We've become so distracted to think of the 70's sitcom, I Dream of Jeanie, and then we are not walking in the spirit, but in the desires of the flesh.

You are so right sis. We have become so intrigued with self that there is no room for God to work.
